MGT602 GDB NO 2 FALL 2014 Idea Solution

Due Date: 04 Aug, 2014
 Marks: 05
Topic: Bank lending decisions for Entrepreneurship and SMEs
 Learning Objectives:
Learning Outcomes:
·         The students will be able to differentiate between qualitative and quantitative measures of lending criterion.
·         Students will also be able to analyze make a critical review of the current lending practices in Pakistan.
 Background:
A break through idea with a lot of built in value and a sustainable solution to a persisting problem, an entrepreneur must have this package of ignition factors to launch a new business venture. But one of the most difficult problems in the new venture creation process is obtaining the finances.
In Pakistan an entrepreneur usually have three sources to obtain finance: personal funds, family, friends and then commercial financial institutes. In the developed countries like USA, UK, Germany and France, Venture Capitalists (An investor who provides capital to new business ventures and demands a relatively high return on investment) and Business Angels (An investor who provides capital to new business ventures and demands a relatively low return on investment) are also available to help entrepreneurs find capital resources.
The lending criterion is based on the evaluation of risk involved in financing and the ability to pay back the loan. So the lending decision is summarized on the basis of 5 C’s which are Character,Capacity, Capital, Collateral and Conditions. If we carefully observe we come to know that first 2 C’s (Character and Capacity) are qualitative and next 2 Cs (Capital and Collateral) are quantitative in nature.
The practice of capital sourcing from commercial lending institutes is least observed in our region. Complex evaluation criterion (quantitative based) and lesser number of lending institutes are the major reasons for this condition. Entrepreneurial Finance Lab initiated by Center for International Development at Harvard University, USA is working on the qualitative part of the above evaluation matrix. A new evaluation criterion has been developed where risk and payback ability is measured on the basis of Intelligence, ethics, honesty, psychological profile and business ethics of entrepreneurs.

CS504 Assignment No 3 Spring 2014 Idea Solution

Assignment No. 03
Semester Spring 2014
Software Engineering I – CS504
Project Description:

“National Hospital” is a famous hospital which is currently having manual system for all Records Management.
Now Management decided to automate processes. They need a system for managing all records. Main
functionalities of “Hospital Record Management System” are given below. For automated system areas of
consideration are “Patient Record Management” and “Appointment /Checkup Record”.

 Different doctors offer private consultancy in evening. For checkup, a visitor will call Receptionist or may
visit hospital for appointment.
 Visitor may query Doctor’s general information including timings. Receptionist will check doctor
database/information and will inform him/her.
 In case of appointment request, Receptionist will create Patient profile (if new patient). Otherwise will
update his/her existing record for new appointment details.
 On scheduled day, Patient will visit doctor. Doctor’s assistant will check appointment details and will
record patient’s history and other readings (including weight info, BP, symptoms details) and will forward
to doctor.
 Doctor will check updated information. After doing checkup, doctor will write a prescription.
Accordingly he will make an entry of Prescription including medicines information and recommended
tests.

The system generates billing reports like Hospital Service Charges, Test Charges etc. Main intention of this
system is to keep record of all data of Doctors, Staff, Patient and Blood Bank and generate different reports. This
will helps in managing Hospital activities in an easy, proper and efficient way.

By Considering the above scenario you are required to Draw Object Model for “Hospital Record
Management System”. UML Object Model should be comprehensive and must contain:

1. All possible objects Marks 5
2. Possible attributes for each object Marks 5
3. Operations of each object Marks 5
4. Relationships among different objects for example Inheritance, Aggregation, composition,
 Association etc. Marks 5
